Terms of Service

1. Overview

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the "User") and Humo Lab LLC, a limited liability company formed under the laws of Wyoming, with its registered office at 30 N Gould St Ste R, Sheridan, WY 82801 (the "Publisher", "we", or "our").

These Terms govern your access to and use of the "Humo" application (the "Application").

By downloading, installing, or using the Application, you unconditionally accept these Terms. If you do not accept these Terms, do not use the Application.

2. Description of the service

The Application is designed for couples. It offers a daily ritual around a virtual plush co-constructed by both partners.

2.1. Main features

  • Emotional plush : A virtual creature, named by the couple, that reacts to your actions and displays up to 9 emotional states. The plush never grows in size — it learns to express more emotions over time.
  • Daily missions : One gentle attention per day, drawn from 4 registers: Tenderness, Complicity, Sweet madness, Cocoon.
  • Feed Pépite : The ability to photograph a moment from your everyday life. The plush absorbs the photo in golden particles.
  • Co-constructed streak : A continuity counter shared between both partners.

2.2. Artificial Intelligence

The Application includes lightweight AI features (generation of mission and plush reaction variants). These requests are routed via OpenRouter to Anthropic (Claude models). By using the Application, you acknowledge and accept that:

  • Data transmitted : Only short text data is sent (plush name, mission register, state). Your photos and identifying data are never transmitted to AI processors.
  • Accuracy : AI-generated content is provided for creative purposes only. AI models may occasionally produce surprising or imperfect suggestions.

3. Account and registration

To access the Application, you can authenticate in four ways:

  • Apple Sign In : Authentication via your Apple ID.
  • Google : Authentication via your Google account.
  • Email and password : Creation of a classic account with an email address and password.
  • Anonymous account : Use of the Application without providing personal information.

3.1. Partner pairing

The Application is designed for two people. When you pair your account with your partner's, you both consent to sharing co-constructed data (plush, missions, Feed Pépite photos, streak).

4. User content and conduct

4.1. Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the content you create, upload, or share via the Application — including photos taken via Feed Pépite and any text entries.

4.2. Private nature of couple content

Photos and data shared in the Application remain private between the two partners of the couple. We never display your content to other users and do not use it for advertising purposes.

4.3. Prohibited content

You agree NOT to use the Application to create, upload, or share content that is:

  • Illegal, sexually explicit, violent, or pornographic.
  • Hate speech, harassment, or bullying.
  • Infringing on others' intellectual property or privacy.

We reserve the right to suspend or delete any account using the Application for malicious or prohibited purposes.

5. Subscriptions, payments, and refunds

5.1. Business model

The Application operates on a subscription model with a 7-day free trial. Two billing cadences are offered:

  • Annual : €49.99 per year, with a 7-day free trial.
  • Monthly : €9.99 per month, with no trial period.

5.2. Payment processors

Subscriptions are managed exclusively via mobile platforms, through RevenueCat:

  • Apple App Store : For in-app purchases on iOS devices. Billing is managed in accordance with Apple's terms.
  • Google Play Store : For in-app purchases on Android devices. Billing is managed in accordance with Google's terms.

5.3. Cancellation policy

Subscriptions can be cancelled at any time via your device settings, at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current period.

5.4. Refund policy

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google according to their respective policies. For any refund request, contact the platform from which you made the purchase directly.

In case of billing error or verified technical issue, you may contact us at support@starthumo.com for review.

5.5. Acknowledgment of digital content

By subscribing, you acknowledge that the Application provides immediate access to digital content and services. In accordance with applicable consumer protection laws, you consent to immediate performance of the service.

6. Intellectual property

6.1. Our intellectual property

Humo Lab LLC owns all rights to the code, design, plush illustrations, and proprietary software of the Application.

6.2. Your content

You retain full rights to the content you upload (Feed Pépite photos, text entries). By using the Application, you grant us only a limited license necessary to store and display this content to you and your partner.

6.3. AI content ownership

Between you and us, you retain ownership of mission and plush reaction variants generated specifically for your couple. We claim no ownership over this content.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law (Wyoming):

  • Service : The Application is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.
  • Relationship outcomes : Humo Lab LLC does not guarantee and is not responsible for the effects of the Application on your relationship, your well-being, or that of your partner.
  • Damages : Humo Lab LLC will not be liable for indirect or consequential damages resulting from use of the Application.

8. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States. Any dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration in Sheridan, Wyoming, except where prohibited by mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence (for example, EU consumer protection laws).
